Today in religious freedom, one religious school demonstrates that LGBT families are not the only “lifestyles” being targeted:
“In a lawsuit filed in state court on Tuesday, Richardson said that she received notice from Northwest’s administration that her “lifestyle” was inconsistent with the university’s “faith-based” policies. Administrators issued her an ultimatum: Marry the baby’s father, break up with him or leave her job…”
It actually hasn’t been unusual for Catholic school boards and other administration to fire or punish single mothers for ideological reasons, but it’s still sort of new to see Protestant boards giving an ultimatum of this sort.
I guess religious freedom is supposed to include the freedom to dictate peoples’ life and relationship choices in general.
